Alpha Iota Meeting Minutes
Delta Kappa Gamma
Dec. 11, 2013
East Palestine United Presbyterian Church
Gayle welcomed us all. Jane Ramsey gave the devotions. Our program was a small group of sax players from Crestview High School. They provided Christmas music for us before dinner.
Gayle called our business meeting to order. The minutes had been read prior to the meeting. Nancy Dicken made a motion to accept them, and Barb Lipp seconded it. Due to our Treasurer's absence, there was no Treasurer's Report.
Gayle had many forms available to us. They were requirements for membership, providing a workshop at the state convention, and providing a visual arts display at the state convention.
Committees: Joys and Concerns - Cards were signed for Charmaine Lamoncha, Kathy Watters, and Rose Castiglioni.
Nominations - Amy Johnson spoke about everyone considering taking an office. Gayle explained that four years is the limit for holding an office. The offices affected are President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, and Recording Secretary.
Mary Lou still needs more forms from a few members. She requested the minutes to be E-mailed to her from Amy Johnson. Also, she talked about a blog. Sue Weber-Nape has been busy collecting photos.
Many toys were collected for the Christina House! Karen Moore talked about possibly helping even more with the Christina House.
A discussion was held about the placemats we are making for Meals on Wheels. Ideas mentioned were duct tape of all colors, paper, and fabric. This will be our project for our March meeting.
in New Business Gayle asked for a possible number of how many will be attending the State Convention. It is April 4 - 6, 2014 in Columbus.
Door prizes were Christmas items and were donated by Evelyn Thompson. The lucky winners were Maralyn Porter, Nancy Perkins, Colleen Mathias, Loretta Davidson, Georgia Farmer, and Mary Lou Hays.
Our next meeting will be March 13, 2014 at the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church in Wellsville. Pam Todd made a motion to adjourn our meeting. Mary Lou Hays seconded it.
Respectfully submitted,
Amy Johnson, Recording Secretary
