Delta Kappa Gamma
Alpha Iota Chapter
March 11, 2015
The March meeting of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was held at the East Fairfield Methodist Church. Ann Hall, president, welcomed our guest Sarah Valingo, an English teacher from Crestview School District, along with the 21 members who were present. Jane Ramsey gave the invocation. After enjoying a wonderful lasagna dinner provided by the members of the East Fairfield Methodist Church President Ann Hall called the meeting to order.
The Minutes were read and a motion to accept the Minutes was made by Connie Beadnell and seconded be Nancy Dicken. Sharon Walker presented the treasurer’s report with a total of $4135.46 in the checking account and $1338.47 in the savings account. Sharon explained that she will now be receiving the DKG bank statements on line; this will save the organization $2.00 a month by not having a monthly statements mailed to her. Linda Lipp made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report and it was seconded by Sandy Forbes. Amy Johnson read correspondences from Esther Calhone and Lois Chandler thanking us for keeping them abreast on what is happening at our meetings. Charmaine Lamoncha has been enjoying the cards sent by the members; she said they helped lift her spirts.
Our next meeting will be at Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, Wellsville, Ohio on April 9, 2015. Each member is to bring a covered dish to be shared with the other members. The ladies were reminded that next month we will be making the blankets that had to put on hold from a previous meeting. Also under new business we were reminded that Alpha Delta State Convention registration deadline was quickly approaching. At the time of the meeting Mary Lou Hays and Nancy Dicken have signed up to attend. For those who are not able to attend the State Convention due to work or other commitments may what to think about the Biennial State Seminar that is June 16-18 in Dayton, Ohio.
Barb Lipp made the motion to adjourn the meeting with a second from Georgia Farmer.
Linda Lipp introduced Regena Rees who talked about the history of apples and truths and legends of John Chapman aka Johnny Appleseed.
Before we departed for the evening the Joys and Concerns Committee presented gifts to three luck members.
Respectfully Submitted,
Pamela Todd, Recording Secretary
