Delta Kappa Gamma
Alpha Iota Chapter
November 13, 2014

The November meeting of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was held at the New Waterford United Methodist Church. The invocation was given by Alana Bittner. After sharing a wonderful dinner provided by the members of the church, President Ann Hall called the meeting to order.

Sandra Forbes made the motion to accept the September Minutes. The motion was seconded by Nancy Dicken. The motion was approved. Sharon Walker presented the treasurer’s report, reporting that there is $1,338.42 in the savings and $6,262.98 checking. Sharon explained that there was an over charge for the meals at the Tri-County Joint Chapter Dinner in October. The over payment for the dinners was split with Delta Delta Chapter, our share of the over payment was $105.98. Barb Lipp made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Maralyn Porter with the motion being passed by all in attendance.

The results of the voting for the 2014-2015 service projects were shared with the group. This December we will make blankets for the young adults who will be leaving the foster care program. Also in December we will bring nonperishable food items to benefit The Way Station. At the April meeting we will make placemats for Meals on Wheels.

Nancy Dicken made a motion to place Rose Castiglioni and Barbara Heasley on reserve membership role. Both ladies have been unable to attend meetings and have asked to be placed on the reserve membership role. The motion was seconded by Linda Lipp. The ladies of Alpha Iota accepted the motion with regrets.

Georgia Farmer suggested placing in Elaine Sell as an honorary member. No action was taken.

Mary Lou Hays informed the members that the Alpha Iota Chapter’s website is now a DKG Certified Website.

Sue Weber-Nape asked if we could continue to bring in our Alpha Iota photos so she can get them in the scrapbook.

Evelyn Thompson had gifts for the ladies who’s birthdays were close to the meeting date.

The Christmas celebration will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church in East Palestine, Ohio on December 10, 2014.

Mary Lou Hays made the motion to adjourn the meeting with Barb Lipp seconding the motion.

Linda Lipp introduced Erin Millinger, an alumnus of Crestview School District. Erin is the owner of three fitness centers, with a fourth center opening soon. Erin gave the ladies a pep talk on how to become a healthier person by doing both cardiovascular and resistance training.

Respectfully Submitted,
