Delta Kappa Gamma
Alpha Iota Chapter
December 10, 2014
The December meeting of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was held at the East Palestine Presbyterian Church. Ann Hall, president, welcomed the 17 members. Jane Ramsey gave the invocation. After sharing a wonderful dinner provided by the members of the church, President Ann Hall called the meeting to order.
Sandra Forbes made the motion to accept the November Minutes; the motion was seconded by Amy Johnson. The motion was approved by the members. Sharon Walker presented the treasurer’s report; we have $1,388.44 in the savings account and $3,376.30 in the checking account. Payments were made for this year’s dues and printing. Sue Weber-Nape was also paid for her purchase of fabric which will be used to make blankets for the young adults who will be leaving foster care. Linda Lipp made the motion to accept the treasure’s report with Nancy Dicken seconding the motion. Amy Johnson read a note from Gamma Pi thanking Alpha Iota Chapter for a wonderful time at the Joint County dinner in October.
The December service project of making blankets for the young adults leaving foster care has been postponed until the March meeting.
Ann Hall explained to the ladies that The Voice, the state newsletter, is looking for people to be recognized for their outstanding service. Linda Lipp suggested Jackie Mercer who has organized a program on Emmett Till which will take place in March. Jackie requested that her name not be submitted to the Voice.
Evelyn Thompson, on behalf of the Joys and Concerns committee, handed out gifts to the ladies who had birthdays and anniversaries in December. We all signed cards to be sent to Charmaine Lamoncha over the next few months.
Amy Johnson made the motion to adjourn the meeting with Sharron Walker seconding.
The group adjourned to the sanctuary of the church for the heart warming performance of the East Palestine High School Choir. The students got everyone in the Christmas spirit with their singing of many beloved carols.
Respectfully Submitted,
Pamela Todd, Recording Secretary
