Alpha Iota Chapter
May 12, 2015
The May meeting of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was held at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club, Salem, Ohio. Each member was given a red rose, donated by President Ann Hall, who was unable to attend tonight’s meeting. First Vice President, Linda Lipp, welcomed the 21 members to the Founder’s Day Celebration. Jane Ramsey gave the invocation, with the group enjoying a wonderful meal provided by the golf club.
The April Minutes were read and approved with two corrections. Sharon Walker presented the treasures’ report. There has been no change in the checking account, $4200.30 and an increase of one cent in the savings account which brings it to $1338.49. Again the members approved the report.
The members of Alpha Iota were much saddened by the passing of Sister Charmaine Ellen Lamoncha, who passed away April 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Alana Bittner read John 14 verses 1-7. After the Celebration of Life Service some members shared memories they had of Charmaine. Needless to say she will be greatly missed.
Linda Lipp shared some historical information on Delta Kappa Gamma and the Alpha Iota Chapter. After which Jackie Mercer asked trivia questions and passed out prizes that were provided by President Ann Hall.
Sue Weber Nape is still looking for pictures for the scrap book. It was brought up that some of the Chapters are digitizing their scrap books, at this time Alpha Iota will continue to make a hard copy scrap book. Nancy Dicken is arranging a fieldtrip to Kent State University Main Campus's Fashion Museums on June 24th, a paper was sent around for those who might be interested in going.
The members voted to meet on July 2, 2015 at 11:30 at the Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana for an Executive Committee meeting to plan for the upcoming year.
Amy Johnson motioned to adjourn the meeting with the second made by Barb Lipp.
Respectfully Submitted,
Pamela Todd, Recording Secretary
